Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH-HIT), Greece

The Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) was established as part of the National Centre for Research and Technology (CERTH) in 2000. It is the national organisation devoted to the promotion and execution of transport research in Greece.

The basic scope of CERTH-HIT is to provide excellence in the field of transport with highly specialised research services offered to government and other organisations. It is also devoted to providing support for the formulation of transport policy to relevant ministries and other government bodies. The scope of services covers all areas of transport. In particular, emphasis and priority is given to research with a view to developing knowledge and expertise on the particular Greek conditions and requirements that influence the operation of the transport system.
